Applied Psychology: An International Review seeks to publish work that rigorously develops, tests, or advances psychological theory, research, and practice in work, organizational, and other applied settings. Articles submitted should possess well-articulated and strong theoretical foundations. Although the journal has recently focused mainly on work and organizational psychology, it upholds a broad and inclusive scope. We welcome research published in all domains of applied psychology. This includes not only work and organizational psychology, but also areas such as counseling/vocational psychology, cross-cultural psychology, economic psychology, environmental psychology, psychological assessment, psychology and ethics, psychology and entrepreneurship, psychology and human resource management, psychology and leadership, and sports psychology.

Celebrating 100 Years of the IAAP

The IAAP is the oldest and largest international association of individual members and affiliate international associations. It was founded by Édouard Claparède in 1920 as the Association Internationale de Psychotechnique and, following the presidencies of Édouard Claparède and Henri Piéron, was renamed to the International Association of Applied Psychology in 1955.

Virtual Issue: Psychological Interventions in the Field of Work and Organizational Psychology 

The latest Virtual Issue from Applied Psychology discusses how future research could build on existing research to further help us understand how to design, implement and evaluate interventions in the field of Work and Organizational Psychology. We hope that through this discussion, we can provide some hints to answer the following questions:
  1. How can we better evaluate the effectiveness of the interventions?
  2. What are the boundary conditions and explanatory processes that influence the effectiveness of an intervention?
  3. How can we know whether interventions are sustainable?
  4. Do people transfer what they have learnt into their daily work?
  5. Should we prioritise individual or organisational interventions?
